Pandemic: Contagion flips the script on the classic Pandemic experience—this time, you are the disease, and humanity doesn’t stand a chance. With no cure in sight, your goal is simple: outmatch rival diseases and wipe out civilization to become the deadliest plague the world has ever seen.
In this competitive game of strategic infection, players spread their contagion across cities, evolve powerful mutations, and withstand countermeasures from the World Health Organization (WHO). On your turn, you’ll take two of three possible actions:
Draw Contagion Cards based on your incubation rate.
Mutate by advancing one of your three disease traits: Incubation (cards drawn), Transmission (cubes spread), or Resistance (protection from WHO effects).
Spread Infection by placing disease cubes in cities.
Cities fall when their population limit is reached, awarding points and special actions to those responsible. Event and WHO cards introduce unpredictable twists, with WHO cards always bringing devastating consequences—unless your resistance is strong enough to withstand them.
Scoring happens mid-game at key points, with new cities emerging along the way. When the event deck runs out or only two cities remain, a final scoring round determines which plague reigns supreme.
